Welcome to our user's guide
We’ve kept things straightforward, but here’s a quick guide to help you get the most out of every SmartAssPDF tool
Organize PDF
Merge PDF
To merge two or more PDFs, select the documents from your device or from your cloud drive. Arrange the files in any order before merging.
You can also combine several password‑protected documents into one (with their passwords). Upload the selected files, process them, then download your merged file. Check ‘Merge PDF’ limits for each account type.
Split PDF
To split a PDF into pages or ranges, choose your file and select either fixed ranges (e.g., 1–3, 5–8) or extract every page as a separate PDF.
Preview the page thumbnails, set the ranges, upload and process. Download a zip with multiple PDFs or a single PDF containing the selected pages only.
Rotate PDF
To rotate pages permanently, choose your PDF from device and rotate specific pages 90°/180° or all pages at once. This saves the new orientation into the file.
Review the preview, confirm rotation, then download the updated PDF.
PDF Security
Protect PDF
To encrypt your PDF with a password, upload the document and enter a strong password. Supported encryption prevents opening without the password.
Confirm to apply protection and download the secured file. Keep your password safe—if you lose it, we can’t recover the contents.
Unlock PDF
To remove a password you already know, upload the protected PDF and enter its password. The tool creates an unlocked copy for easier access.
Only use this feature for files you own or are authorized to modify.
Add Page Numbers
To stamp pages with numbers, upload your PDF and pick position (header/footer, left/center/right), start number, and format (1, 01, i, a).
Preview placement, process, and download the numbered PDF.
Optimize PDF
Compress PDF
To reduce file size, upload your PDF and choose a compression level. Images are optimized and unused data removed while keeping readability.
Process the file and download a smaller PDF—ideal for email and uploads.
Convert PDF
PDF to Word
To convert PDF to editable Word, upload your PDF and start the conversion. Text and layout are preserved where possible.
Download the resulting DOCX and open it in Microsoft Word or Google Docs to edit.
Word to PDF
To create a high‑quality PDF from Word, upload DOC or DOCX. Fonts and layout are embedded to look the same on all devices.
Process the file and download a pixel‑perfect PDF suitable for print and sharing.
PDF to Excel
To extract tables from PDF to XLSX, upload your document. The tool detects tabular data and converts it into editable spreadsheet cells.
Open the downloaded XLSX in Excel to review and cleanup any complex tables.
Excel to PDF
To export spreadsheets as PDF, upload XLS or XLSX and set page size/orientation. Gridlines and fonts are preserved as configured.
Process and download a tidy PDF that’s easy to print or share.
PDF to PPT
To turn a PDF into slides, upload the file and convert to PPTX. Each page becomes a slide you can edit in PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Download and adjust text, images, and backgrounds as needed.
PowerPoint to PDF
To save slides as PDF, upload a PPT or PPTX. The converter keeps slide dimensions and avoids unexpected font changes.
Great for sharing presentations where recipients may not have PowerPoint.
PDF to JPG
To convert pages to images, upload your PDF and select page range and resolution (DPI). Each page becomes a JPG image.
Download a zip containing all the generated images or only selected pages.
JPG to PDF
To make a PDF from images, add one or more JPG/PNG files, set margins and page size, then order the images as needed.
Process to get a single multi‑page PDF built from your images.
Image to PDF
This works like JPG to PDF but supports multiple image formats. Choose layout options (fit, fill, margins) to control placement.
Combine photos into a clean document ready to share or print.
HTML to PDF
To save a web page as PDF, paste a URL or upload an HTML file. Choose page size and margins to control the print layout.
Process and download a PDF that captures the current view of the page.
